Abstract

Faking behavior is sometimes conducted by job applicants during the process of recruitment and selection for performing good appearance to employers. This study was intended to study to investigate the impacts of applicants' personality on faking motivation and behavior. Specifically, this study investigated the effect of the big five personality on faking motivation and behavior. Data for this study were collected from 170 respondents. Data analysis was conducted by using AMOS 22. The aims of analysis were to find support for the proposed hypotheses and model. Among 5 dimensions of the personality, only neuroticism was not related to motivation to fake. It was found that motivation to fake was positively related to applicant faking behavior.
