Abstract

This research examines the influence of servicescape, safety factor, and store location to positive impression, and the influence of positive impression to customer’s word of mouth of Matahari Department Store in Yogyakarta. Selection of the sample in this study is done by using purposive sampling with one criteria: they have visited Matahari Department Store in Yogyakarta within the last three months. Data was collected using questionnaires and 200 Matahari Department Store customers participated in this study. Data analysis is performed using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) with a computer program Amos. The results shows that environmental factors and aesthetic factors have positive influence to customers' positive impression, and positive impression also has a positive influence on word of mouth.
