Abstract

This study test the effect of empowerment on comitment and its impact on performance can occur if the fulfillment of the elements of employee motivation by the organization fulfilled. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the effect of empowerment on the commitment, the effect of commitment on performance, the effect of moderation in the relation of empowerment, commitment, and performance. Respondents in this study were employees or active employees that exist in STIE YKPN Yogyakarta. The Hypotheses 1 and 2 are tested using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) with a Amos 22 computer program and the Hypotheses 3 is tested using subgroup analyzes. These results indicate that the hypothesis 1 which states that empowerment have a positive and significant effect on commitment is accepted. Hypothesis 2 which states that commitment have a positive and significant on performance is rejected. Hypothesis 3 which test the effect of empowerment on commitment and the effect off commitment on performance will be stronger in people who satisfied the elements of motivation than those who are not satisfied is accepted.
